Weekly Round-up: Hearti-san Market, Online Videos & Talking Gloves.

Cotham Hill's lost gloves via Bristol Culture

How many pairs of gloves have you gone through this winter? Perhaps it's worth checking the famous Cotham Hill 'lost gloves' railing? If only there was a railing for all the items that get mislaid...

It's less than a week until Valentine's Day - if you haven't got your special someone a gift yet, the Christmas Steps is going to host a special Heart-isan Market this Saturday.

This Sunday we will also welcome the Year of the Water Snake. If you want to join in the Chinese New Year celebrations, both the Bristol M Shed and Bristol Museum and Art Gallery will host various activities and events linked to it.

This week in our office we've been busy with branding work for a start-up business and adding new features to client websites - Linda Alvis Fine Art and Social Welfare Training.

We also welcomed a new client with an exciting product that revolutionizes the way we think about hand protection in a variety of fields.

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting up with the head of the South West's Business Networking Group, Sean Humby.

Marketing & Social Media: Video SEO

Does your company make the most of online videos and video SEO? If this is still something for your business to look at, perhaps these posts will help.  Alecsy Christensen provides some valuable tips for video SEO beginners and points out that it's not enough just to launch videos if they don't reach their intended audience. Keep in mind your target audience and attend to their wants and needs.

Phil Nottingham writes about 'defining and implementing a goal-driven video SEO strategy ' which he feels is often neglected by creative agencies. His post offers a good overview of possible goals for video SEO: rich snippets, improving conversion rates, boosting brand awareness aswell as building links and shares back to your site.

Whilst there are numerous tools for running a business online, many companies tend to go for the ones they've heard the most about. This does not mean that the first obvious choice is necessarily the best -  it's always good to stay up to date and sample alternative tools. Here is a review of some popular online business devices and potential alternatives recommended by Tweak Your Biz.

Art, Design & Technology

Bluetooth Talking Glove via Swissmiss
If you find it a hassle having to take off your gloves and reach into your pocket everytime you answer your phone, Bluetooth Talking Glove may be for you. Thanks to the inbuilt microphone and speaker, you don't even have to take your phone out of your pocket, just speak to your glove. You may get some strange looks from passers-by though.

No More Tears Glasses
This week we have come across a few accessories which could make interesting Valentine's gifts:

Experienced chefs may know some clever ways for tearless handling of onions but If they still bring a tear to your eye, why not try these No More Tears Glasses? Thanks to a special foam seal, they protect your eyes from powerful onion vapours - finally, no more onion tears!
Bacon Soap via TechMash

Or what about this Bacon Soap? Literally, a bar of bacon-flavoured soap. If you think it is a slightly odd concept, check out the other scents available from ManHands: 'rugby glove', 'beer' and 'cash'...not sure we'll be giving up our Lavender and Camomile just yet!

It's your turn!
