Weekly Round-Up: Google+, Social Media Tools & Logos

This week we've been out and about at Networking events, including giving a presentation on App development at a Business Network SW event, the title of which was 'Can Apps Help My Marketing'. We're also excited to be joining the Bristol 52 project as a participant - if you haven't heard about it already, Bristol 52 is a Twitter-based community initiative representing Bristol with 52 Tweeters over 52 weeks.


Businesses using social media:
Pinterest continues to be a major story in social media - this infographic offers some very useful introductory information, including persuasive arguments on why your business should be using it.

But we still can't ignore Google Plus. Social Media Examiner has featured some good articles on this relative newcomer to the social media canon recently, highlighting its importance to marketing and 8 ways to drive traffic to your site using Google Plus.

Ever wondered about the difference between Search Marketing and Social Marketing? This post compares these two strategies, focusing on the different kind of strategies they require.

If you are using social media, there are lots of tools out there that can help you focus your attention in various areas - this post provides a great rundown of 50 mostly free social tools that are worth taking a look at.

A couple of articles on Logos caught our eyes this week: This look at unique creative Logos has some great inspiration in simplicity and these hipsterized corporate logos made us smile.

We always enjoy Smashing Magazine's in-depth look at aspects of web design, and their article on recent web design trends was no exception - definitely lots of food for thought!

This week there have been various articles about the Rechner iPhone App, a calculator that does its sums in response to gestures - apparently converting mathematical function keys into finger swipes radically increases efficiency.

Spring is officially sprung, so we've been enjoying this look at Spring in Paintings, starting with Botticelli (of course)
