Here's what's caught our eyes this week:
Businesses using social media
Want to get more leads on Twitter? Try Amy Porterfield's simple trick to enhance your specific services.
If you've been on the fence as to whether you should add your business to Google Plus, here's a potentially useful article on why social media marketers shouldn't be ignoring this new social network.
If you're already on Google Plus and are wondering how to make the most of it, we found these useful articles: Chris Brogan on what kind of sharing environment Google Plus is and Social Media Examiner on Google Hangouts: how to do them and why you should.
Art & Design
Having been thinking a lot about website design encouraging interaction in our series on social media website design, we were particularly interested in this fascinating and detailed article which looks at what web design can learn about fluidity of content and design by looking at classic picture book Where the Wild Things Are.
We often mention street art on the blog, in consideration of its development as an art form & Bristol's place in its history, this week we were amazed by the world's largest street painting in London (sponsored by Reebok) and news that archaeologists are seeking to preserve graffiti drawn by Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols - should Banksy's work receive the same treatment (especially in light of the recent painting over of his famous gorilla painting).
The latest App design to catch our eye is from Dominos Pizza, through which you can design your own pizza and order it, bringing together gaming and ecommerce through a canny use of the medium's interactivity.
Bristol
Before our Bristol news starts getting too Christmassy (it is still November after all!), we're excited that the annual Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition has begun (here is a nice sneak preview of some of the images from Bristol Culture Blog).
We're also thrilled to see how much people in Bristol are thinking outside the box when it comes to Christmas retail this year - we mentioned the presence of a pop-up shop highlighting local illustrators in Cabot Circus over the festive period before on the blog, and here is a video of them putting it together. Do pass on any Christmas tips for us to add to our special Bristol Christmas Gift/Attractions Guide - we want to include as many special local things as possible!
Now it's your turn:
As well as inviting you to comment on our post, we're going to be opening the floor to you from now on: If you've featured any useful tips or advice, or interesting posts on your blog this week on social media or website design (or anything related), please add a link to it in the comments below.
